Japanese developer Orange has announced a release window for Murder on the Spaceship Altair on PlayStation 4.
Their sci-fi mystery visual novel is coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan sometime this summer, in June.
The sci-fi murder-mystery visual novel was originally released for Switch back in April 2024 for Japan. A release for Windows PC (via Steam), PS5, and smartphones is still planned.
Here’s a rundown on the game:
The player becomes the master AI of the Altair, giving instructions to Flem to investigate the ship. Using a variety of commands, the player communicates with the crew, finds clues, and unravels the truth of the case.
The main illustrator is Kosuke Hashimoto, and the sub illustrators are Shio and Satsuki Egawa.
Depending on the commands you give, you may be able to communicate with the crew members through physical contact and other means. Interact with the crew members in various ways and deepen your relationships with them.
Story
Callisto, Jupiter’s fourth moon–there was a cutting-edge human research base there. One day, the “Zion Frontier” was hit by a mysterious explosion.
One year later, the wreckage of the base is recovered by the manned spaceship Altair. Inside is a frozen capsule containing the body of the genius astro-engineer Zion Miller, and the android Flem, who is nestled in the capsule. And then there is Hope, an extraterrestrial life form discovered in the Jupiter sphere.
A mysterious incident soon occurs on board involving these and the crew. Was the incident caused by the mysterious life form? Or is it the crew? With nowhere to run, fear and suspicion swirl inside the ship…
